Here are we, one for all, and all for one.
The wine tasting is in full swing. It is amazing how many wineries still
exists between the hi-tech industrial landscape. |
Captain's Log: 6th of May, 2001,

WE KICKED OFF THE WINE SEASON SOMEWHAT EARLY
THIS YEAR. FOR ALL OF US WHO NEED TO REFRESH THEIR MEMORIES FROM
YESTERDAY, WE (ALEX AND DORA) WILL PRODUCE SOME DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE OF
. . . |
| . . . THE COMIC FIGURES
WE BECAME ALREADY AFTER THE FIRST WINERY. UNSTEADY WALK, WONDERING GAZES
. . . CANNOT RECOGNIZE YOURSELF? CLICK ON THE PICTURE(S) FOR DETAILS. |

HOW IT STARTED
Sun and hot weather are back here in Silicon
Valley. And what is better than a cool and shadowy cellar to enjoy it?
 |
The
admirable IBM Hiking Club in the person of Hidi organized the Santa Clara
Wine Tour. Ready to the challenge, a sizable
group of volouteers was rapidly found and
assembled.

A GLUTTONOUS STORY

|
Some wineries were so bad that they even expect
you to bring your own wine! Well, at least their picknick table was
excellent. |

ALL IS WELL WHEN IT ENDS WELL
At the end of the day, content and smiling,
we drive back to the base, behind us a long trail of empty bottles and
dirty glasses. Prosit!
One
thing was sure though: wine drinking is not only physically levelling experience
(although this time nobody managed to lie in the gutter) but culturally
levelling too. To prove this we have a picture quiz: who is the Japanese
and who is the Italian?

This is somewhat easier test: on which picture
is Bruce sober?
[The correct answer is: the picture on his
driving licence] |
